1 stick of butter
1 lb. brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2-3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips (peanut butter or butterscotch are also good)

Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

1. Melt butter in a round-bottom pan over medium heat. Add all the other ingredients and mix well.

2. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan.

3. Bake at 325º F for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and cut as brownies
