¼C. Shortening
1 egg
1½ C. Sifted flour
½ tsp soda
½ C. Raisins
1 C. Brown sugar
½ C. Hot coffee
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ C. Chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat thoroughly. Add coffee gradually, mixing well. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon. Add to egg mixture. Add raisins and chopped nuts. Bake in greased baking pan (10½ x 15½) in a moderate oven (350º) for 15-20 minutes. Frost while still warm. Makes 24 1x3 inch bars.
