4 oz white chocolate
½ cup water
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolks, unbeaten
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup butter
2 ½ cups sifted cake flour
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten

SWEET CHOCOLATE ICING:
1 stick oleo, melted
4 oz white chocolate
1 1/3 cups evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sugar
3 egg yolks only
1 can angel flake coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter & sugar until light and fluffy; add egg yolks, one at a time. Beat after each addition. Add chocolate & vanilla. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add flour alternately with buttermilk to egg mixture, beating after each addition until smooth. Fold in egg whites. Pour into three8” or 9” lightly greased & floured cake pans. Bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes.

Icing: Mix egg yolks and 1 cup evaporated milk together. Add sugar and melted oleo. Cook in double boiler until of pudding thickness; should be light in color. Do NOT cook to caramel color. Melt chocolate in double boiler and add to mixture. Add 1/3 cup hot evaporated milk. Add pecans and coconut.
