1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening (I use butter flavored Cisco)
2 eggs
1 cup stewed raisins (pour boiling water over raisins and set aside)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in 5 teaspoons of water from stewed raisins
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and mix well then add raisin water with soda. Add baking powder to flour and add to mixture. Add raisins and oats and mix well. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes.
