2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º
Stir dry ingredients, cut in shortening until it resembles fine crumbs, stir in milk until just moist, don't over stir. (Over stirring makes less fluffy biscuits.)g
Pat or roll to 1/2 inch thick and cut into squares. I pat into a 9x9 inch pan and cut into squares. Transfer to a baking sheet or leave in the pan and bake for 10 - 12 minutes until golden brown.
Delicious with sausage gravy
