"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

I have so many to choose from I thought a good way to list them was in chronological order starting with my married life, then going on to dishes re-discovered from my youth. One good reason I list them this way is that if I listed the same dishes from my childhood they wouldn’t make the list. (Yes believe it or not I was just like all kids in that if mom made it I took an immediate dislike to it.) so without further delay....

Directions:
Directions:
PORK & BEANS (A LA CAN)
Take one fresh can of Pork & Beans and open gently. Warm slowly over medium heat. When heated thoroughly call the kids to dinner.
This dish goes well with hot dogs and potato chips.

HOT DOGS
Using one package of fresh hot dogs gingerly submerse in a pan of boiling water. Observe until they increase by almost ˝ again in size or your wife tells you they are done. May be served with or without a bun.
This dish goes well with pork & beans.

POTATO CHIPS
Take one bag of crinkly potato chips and carefully open. Serve immediately.
This dish goes well with pork & beans and hot dogs.
