5 tbsp butter, chilled and cubed
1/2 c mini chocolate chips
3 tbsp orange juice

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray or use parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. With a pastry blender or a large fork, cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the chocolate chips. Mix in the orange juice to form a dough.
Turn out the dough on a floured surface, pat or roll in a 9" circle about 1/2" thick. With a 2-1/2 inch fluted biscuit cutter, cut out 12 scones, pushing the dough scraps together for the last few.
Bake for 12 minutes and put on racks to cool.

Personal Notes:
This is the scone recipe that I usually use but I vary it. I leave out the sugar. I add either yogurt or sour cream. I put in berries and/or nuts. I make them gluten free. Lots of possibilities.
