11/4 cup sugar
1 cup Golden Crisco®
2 eggs
1/4 cup regular pancake syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups flour (add 1/4 cup if dough is sticky)
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 375º F
2. Combine sugar and Crisco® until well blended, add eggs, syrup and vanilla. Beat well.
3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until well blended. Divide dough into quarters, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
4. Cover surface with flour and roll dough to 1/4" thick, cut out with floured cutters, transfer to ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake for 5 - 7 minutes (depending on size) cool 2 minutes on baking sheet and remove to wire rack to cool completely. Using a thin metal lifter.

Bells 51/2 minutes
Star 51/2 minutes
Trees 6 minutes
Reindeer 6 minutes
Gingerbread Men 6 - 7 minutes

Sugar Cookies:
Roll on counter using plenty of flour. Also coat rolling pin repeating. Cut out shapes with metal cookie cutter.
Use thin lifter (metal) with floured end to put cookies onto cookie sheet.
I use no extra flour as the recipe states.
Dough cracked when rolling.

Bake on 2nd position down from top of oven.
