¾ c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
6 T. and 1/3 c. molasses
¼ tsp. salt
2 ⅓ c. flour
1½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
(1 tsp. ginger)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beaten, and molasses. Sift dry ingredients and stir into mixture. Mix well and chill for 1 hour. Shape into balls the size of large walnuts. Mash with fork dipped in water. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
