Mema Odie's Shrimp Gumbo Recipe

3 lb shrimp (salt)
½ lb Bacon, cut into small pieces
1 large onion
2 pkg Okra
1 can of tomotoes
1 Tbsp Seafood Seasoning
1 Tbsp of gumbo file
1 cup of flour

Directions:
Directions:
Boil shrimp in 4 quarts of salted water.

In a skillet, brown bacon and onion, add okra and tomatoes. Add this mixture to the shrimp and water then add seasonings.

In a dry skillet, brown flour lightly. Add flour to shrimp and mix fast, crushing any lumps. Simmer for 1 hour. Add salt to taste and serve over rice.

Lisa's Grandmother (Mema Odie) got her shrimp fresh from the boat. This recipe was handed down to Lisa and she has been making it since. It is always a great meal!!
