Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 package of Ballpark Beef Franks (Nathans will work as well)

- 1 package of hot dog buns

- 1 package of shredded cheddar cheese

- 1 bottle of French's Yellow Mustard

Directions:
Directions:
- Start by removing the hot dogs from the packaging. Be careful not to spill any of the hot dog water on yourself, at the cost of smelling delicious, you'll be sticky and attract every animal in a 100ft radius.

- You really have 4 options here to cook these "puppies" (pardon the pun). Grilling is obviously the top choice if you're feeling the need to impress someone, but I personally find the microwave to be the simplest mechanism for delivering delicious food to the whole family in a matter of minutes. The other options would be boiling the weiners or baking them in the oven, the first is the choice of a sociopath, and if you are willing to take the time for an oven to preheat, you should be willing to spend time preparing something more substantial.

- Individually swaddle each hot dog in a paper towel. Some would say the paper towel must be wet but I've found both to be effective depending on the moisture/grease content found in the dog. That's why i highly recommend a beef frank for the extra fat content.

- Microwave the wrapped hot dogs for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Careful not to overdue the microwave time as these delicate meat tubes will be prone to dehydrating and becoming the consistency of leather.

- Serve hot dogs on a bun with a generous serving of mustard and topped with the shredded cheese

EDIT: For extra points, you can enjoy this meal as they did in the Great Depression, by spiralizing the hot dogs and filling with cheese, a staple of any true soup kitchen.

Personal Notes:
I've found this recipe to be a go to comfort over the years. Good in a pinch, not a ton of extra ingredients and always a huge hit. This has been a staple of our post car-ride trips to Colorado for the last decade, and is everybody's favorite part of the trip!.
