1 cake yeast
2 TBSP sugar
3 pts. Sifted flour
1 pt. Milk, scalded and cooled
4 TBSP lard or butter
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm milk. Add lard and ½ of flour. Beat until smooth and let raise until light (about 1 hour). Add remainder of flour and salt. Mix to a medium of stiff dough, let raise until light. (About 1½ hours). Roll, cut, raise (about 45 minutes), and bake in rather hot oven 15 minutes. (Betty Crocker says 400º-425º)
