5 T. + 1 tsp. = ⅓ cup
16 T. = 1 cup

1 lb = 16 oz.

2 cups = 1 pint = 16 fluid oz.
4 cups = 1 quart= 32 fluid oz.
4 quarts = 16 cups = 1 gallon

1 lb. shredded cheese = 4 cups
¼ lb. crumbled Bleu cheese = 1 cup
1 lb. butter (4 sticks) = 2 cups
1 cup unwhipped cream = 2 cups whipped

1 lb. packed brown sugar = 2 1/4 cups
1 lb. granulated sugar = 2 cups
1 lb. unsifted powdered sugar = 3 ½ - 4 cups
1 lb. sifted flour = 4 cups

Chocolate chips, 6 oz. pkg = 1 cup
Corn flakes, 3 cups = 1 cup crushed
Graham crackers, 14 squares = 1 cup crumbs
Marshmallows, 10 miniature = 1 Large marshmallow

Long grain rice, 1 cup uncooked = 3 cups cooked
Macaroni, 1 cup (3 ½ - 4 oz.) uncooked = 2 ½ cups cooked
Pasta, 1 lb. = 4-5 cups uncooked = 8 cups cooked
Spaghetti, 8 oz. uncooked = 4 cups cooked

1 lemon = 3 T. juice
1 orange = ⅓ cup juice
3 medium bananas = 1 cup mashed

1 square chocolate (1 oz) = 4 T. cocoa plus ½ T. shortening
1 T. cornstarch (for thickening) = 2 T. flour
1 cup sour milk = 1 cup milk + 1 T. vinegar or lemon juice
¾ cup cracker crumbs = 1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp. Dried herbs = 1 T. fresh herbs
1 T. dried minced onion = 1 small fresh onion
⅛ tsp. Garlic powder = 1 small clove of garlic
1 package active dry yeast = 1 cake compressed yeast

Evaporated milk: 1c. water, 2/3c. Pwd. milk
Sweetened Condensed Milk:
1 c. hot water
2 c. sugar
¼ c. margarine
4 c. instant nonfat dry milk

Combine hot water and sugar and heat until sugar is dissolved. Add margarine. Place in blender and add dry milk gradually, blending until smooth. Yields 2 cans Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk. or 1 qt. Store in Fridge until used.
