Rolls |

Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
2 - 8 oz packages crescent rolls
1/4 cup melted butter
16 large marshmallows
|
|
Directions: |
Directions:In a small bowl combine, sugar, flour and cinnamon. Separate crescent roll dough into 16 triangles. Dip a marshmallow (the body of Christ) and "anoint" it with "oil and spices" ( by dipping in butter and rolling in cinnamon mixture). Then wrap the crescent roll (the linen burial cloth) around the "body" (marshmallow) pinching edges to seal it inside. Dip bottom in butter again and place in a cup cake tin. Repeat for remaining rolls
Place in a cold oven to represent the tomb. Place foil or a cookie sheet under the muffin tin to catch drippings. In the morning, turn the oven to 375ºF and bake 12-15 minutes or until golden. While rolls are baking make glaze. IMMEDIATELY remove from pan to a platter and immediately drizzle glaze onto rolls. |

Glaze |
|
Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp milk
1/4 cup crushed walnuts
|
|
Directions: |
Directions:Mix ingredients and pour over each roll as quickly as possible and sprinkle walnuts on immediately. If you can get someone to help it's easier because glaze hardens super fast and then walnuts don't stick well and you want them to. |

Notes: This is best done the night before Easter. the Gospel of John 19:38-42 through to the beginning of Chapter 24. Share how the marshmallow represents the body of Christ. It's anointed with oil and spices and wrapped in a linen cloth. It was then laid in a tomb and sealed. On Easter the tomb was found with the linen cloth empty and the body of Jesus is gone (just like the marshmallows) because He has Risen from the dead. And how sweet that Good News is!
