Mac and Cheese Recipe

2 cups macaroni
4 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon dry onion flakes
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pinch of pepper
2 cups milk
1 heaping cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup shredded cheese

Cook macaroni as directed on package. Drain. Set aside.
In medium saucepan, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Stir in onions, flour, salt and pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir until sauce boils and thickens. Add cheese. Stir to melt. Combine with the macaroni. Pour into a 2 quart casserole.
In small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Remove from heat. Stir in crumbs until coated. Add cheese, stirring to distribute. Sprinkle over top.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly and cheese is melted.
