"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 oz. dry gin (I use Tanqueray)
3 or 4 large stuffed olives (from a bottle of olives) skewered on a cocktail pick
½ oz. dry vermouth or less
1 tsp. or less of olive juice from olive bottle (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Chill a Martini glass in the freezer while making the Martini. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add gin & vermouth. Add the olive juice only if you like a "dirty" Martini.

Put top on shaker & shake vigorously for about a minute. Strain liquid into chilled glass. Garnish with olive skewer.

Serves 1 but may be doubled or tripled. Alternatively, you could make a whole pitcher of Martinis and stir instead of shaking.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Unlike James Bond, I like my Martinis made with gin, not vodka. We frequently go out for dinner specifically for Martinis and oysters with our friends Pat & Sheldon. Pat & I like our Martinis "dirty"; Max likes his regular. Sheldon is the designated driver. This is how I make Martinis at home.
