8 wrapped plus 1 cup chopped chocolate crème de menthe thins
Small cellophane bag
1-quart (32-ounce) wide-mouth glass
2½ cups almond flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup granulated sugar
¾ teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
½ cup packed light brown sugar
Index card
Festive ribbon
Festive bow (optional)

Gift Jar: Place 8 crème de menthe thins in cellophane bag. Into glass jar, layer 1 cup chopped crème de menthe thins and remaining ingredients in the order listed, packing as necessary; seal jar.

Recipe Card Information:
½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe Card: Write above Recipe Card ingredients and the following directions on an index card:

Preheat oven to 350°F; chop crème de menthe thins in cellophane bag. In large microwave-safe bowl, heat butter in microwave oven on high 1 minute or until melted, stirring every 30 seconds; whisk in eggs and vanilla extract. Add contents of jar; stir until dough is moist and well blended. Drop dough by rounded measuring tablespoons, 2 inches apart, on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 8 minutes or until edges are set, sprinkling tops of cookies with chopped crème de menthe thins during last 1 minute of baking. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Makes about 24 cookies.

Attach filled cellophane bag and Recipe Card to jar with festive ribbon; add bow, if desired.
