2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Butter
5 ea Eggs (divided)
½ Cup Boiling Water
1 Bar German sweet Chocolate
2½ cups Cake flour
1 cup Milk
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 Dash Salt
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream Butter and sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Add to creamed mixture. Dissolve soda in ¼ cup milk. Add all milk to creamed mixture. Alternating with flour. add vanilla. Beat Egg Whites til stiff. add to creamed mixture. . Best put parchment paper on bottom of cake pan before buttering and flouring pan. Pour into 2 buttered and floured 9 inch cake pans. bake 35-40 minutes at 350º check by inserting toothpick in middle of cake. Cake done when the toothpick is clean when removed.
 

Icing

1½ cup sugar
1½ cup evaporated milk
6 ea egg yolks beaten
1½ stick butter
1½ tsp vanilla
1½ cup chopped pecans
6 oz flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Place first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat stir in coconut, pecans, and vanilla. cool and spread on german chocolate cake put icing on bottom layer then put next cake layer on top. Spread rest of icing on top and sides of cake.
