Ingredients: 1½ c. C&H™ granulated sugar 1⅓ c. butter, softened 2 eggs 2½ tsp. vanilla extract 3½ c. all-purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder ¾ tsp. salt

Directions: |
Directions:In large bowl, combine sugar and butter, beat until creamy about 5 min. Add eggs one at a time, blending well; add vanilla extract. Mix dry ingredients together; add to butter mixture one cup at a time until well blended. Roll into 1 in. balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350º for 10-15 min. until light brown. Let stand 5 min. before removing to wire rack. Frost with C&H Sugar Buttercream Frosting. |

Ingredients: 1 c. (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened ¼ tsp. cream of tartar 1 lb. pkg. (3¾ c.) C&H™ powdered sugar, sifted 2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract 1 tsp. water Wilton icing colors or 1-2 drops food coloring (optional) Colored sugar, optional

Directions:In large bowl with electric mixer, beat butter until smooth. Add cream of tartar. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, blending until fully incorporated. Add extract and water, mixing until combined. Whip frosting at high speed of electric mixer for 5-10 min., until light and fluffy. Add food coloring to frosting, if desired; or, garnish frosted cookies with colored sugar (can be purchased in a variety of colors). |
