4 cup sugar
3 cups honey
1 cup butter
6 eggs beaten
1 t salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cup cold strong coffee
1 T anise (ground or liquid)
2 t baking powder
3 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cloves
15 cups flour
1 t all spice
1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, honey and butter together, then cool. Beat eggs well and add to honey mixture. Combine all dry ingredients and add with all other ingredients to make a soft dough. Chill dough overnight. Roll into 1 inch balls, do not flatten. Bake at 325º for 12 minutes or until light brown. While cookies are still warm roll in powder sugar. These cookies freeze well.

One of my favorite grandma's recipe's she made for Christmas. I would get my very own bucket of these I enjoyed them so much. This is a recipe that will be lost if not preserved. My grandma is no longer able to make these due to the intense mixing but I learned from her a few years ago and now carry the torch.

HALF Recipe

1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t all spice
1/8 t black pepper
3/4 t cloves
1 t anise
3/4 c cold strong coffee
