Ingredients: 4 cup sugar 3 cups honey 1 cup butter 6 eggs beaten 1 t salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 1/2 cup cold strong coffee 1 T anise (ground or liquid) 2 t baking powder 3 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp cloves 15 cups flour 1 t all spice 1/4 tsp black pepper

Directions:Boil sugar, honey and butter together, then cool. Beat eggs well and add to honey mixture. Combine all dry ingredients and add with all other ingredients to make a soft dough. Chill dough overnight. Roll into 1 inch balls, do not flatten. Bake at 325º for 12 minutes or until light brown. While cookies are still warm roll in powder sugar. These cookies freeze well. |

Notes: One of my favorite grandma's recipe's she made for Christmas. I would get my very own bucket of these I enjoyed them so much. This is a recipe that will be lost if not preserved. My grandma is no longer able to make these due to the intense mixing but I learned from her a few years ago and now carry the torch.
