German Meatballs Recipe

Meatballs:
2lb ground chuck
1 cup bread crumbs
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
3 eggs

Sauce:
1 bottle Heinz chili sauce
1 bottle water (measured in above bottle)
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 cup whole cranberries

Directions:

Meatballs:
Combine above and make into small meatballs.

Place in large baking dish

Spread 1 cup drained sauerkraut over raw meatballs.

Sauce:
Simmer sauce until well mixed (cranberries start popping) and pour over meatballs and sauerkraut.

Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees uncovered.

I then usually keep warm in a crockpot and we use as a appetizer.
