Directions:
preheat broiler for crispy garlic bread, or preheat oven to 350º for soft garlic bread

Combine butter, garlic and chopped parsley.
For crispy garlic bread, slice bread into ½ inch thick slices. Spread butter mixture (and cheese if using) onto each slice, place on cookie sheet and broil until golden brown.
For soft garlic bread, slice bread in half, long ways. Spread each half with butter mixture, wrap in foil and bake in oven for 15 minutes until heated through and butter melted. If adding cheese, open foil packet and lay slices flat. cover with cheese, and cook an additional 5 minutes until cheese melts and begins to brown.
