- Butter (for baking dish)
- Torn-Up French Bread Loaf - 1 pound
- Eggs - 4
- Egg Yolks - 4
- Heavy Cream - 3 c
- Orange Liqueur or Orange Syrup - ½ cup
- Sugar ½ c. plus 2 tbsp
- Finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange
- Pure Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
- Salt - ½ tsp
- Chocolate chips - 1 c
- Whipped Cream
- Candied Pecans

1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Generously butter a 9x13-inch baking dish
2. Evenly spread the bread in the prepared pan. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the whole eggs and egg yolks until well blended. Whisk in the cream, orange liqueur, orange juice, Vanilla, salt
4. Pour the liquid evenly over the bread, making sure that all the bread is covered in some liquid. Let stand for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally and pressing the bread into the liquid, fold in the chocolate chips ensuring it is well dispursed throughout and not the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tbsp sugar
5. Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 55 minutes. Let stand on a wire rack for 15 minutes, then serve warm, topped with whipped cream and candied pecans
