1 1/2 C flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
dash of black pepper
1/2 C butter
3/4 C sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and pepper.

Cream the butter until softened. Gradually add sugar, egg and molasses. Blend in dry ingredients.

Refrigerate. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 mins.

These cookies are usually baked at Christmas time. It's a recipe from my Swedish grandmother...it must have been in my family for over 100 years. My mom and her twin sister loved baking for their families.
