Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
Jam of choice

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla in a bowl. Add in flour and salt to mixture.

Works best if dough is chilled for at least 3-4 hours. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on cookie sheet. Press thumb into each cookie to create the hole. DO NOT press too far to where you break the bottom.

Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes. Ensure the cookies retain their shape while baking. If they lose their shape, take the cookies out of the oven and use the back of a spoon to press down the cookie. Then, finish baking the cookie.

Cool cookies completely. Once cooled, add jelly of your choice to each thumbprint hole.
