Friendship Cake Recipe

Day 1 - (the day you receive the batter (starter)), Stir and leave on the counter. Cover loosely.. Do not refrigerate (it's a sourdough cake).

Days 2, 3 & 4 - stir each day

Day 5 - Add to the mixture in a large bowl or crock: 1 c milk, 1 c flour, 1 c sugar. Stir and cover loosely.

Day 6, 7, 8 & 9, stir.

Day 10 - add 1 c milk, 1 c sugar, 1 c flour. Stir

Take 3 c batter out of the bowl, 1 c at a time and give to 3 friends, along with this recipe.

To the remaining batter, add:

⅔ c oil
3 eggs
2 c plus 2 T flour
tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 c sugar

Beat until smooth. Add some or all of the following:
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c chopped nuts
chocolate chips

Bake in greased & floured pan (either a 9x13 or 3-4 x 8 pans) at 375 for 15 minutes, then at 350 for 35 minutes. Cool 15-20 minutes. Remove from pan. Dust with powdered sugar.

NOTE: Cake is best when fruit of some kind is added.
