3 tbls. flour
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cups sugar
1.2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and milk in a sauce pan.. Cook until thick. Stirring constantly so it won't lump. Remove from heat and put it in refrigerator until cold.
Cream sugar, shortening, butter and vanilla. Add cold mixture. Beat with mixer for 10 minutes

For 24 cupcakes I triple this recipe

Chocolate: Add 4 tbls. Cocoa to sugar and increase sugar to 1 cup
