1 c. salted butter
1 c. oil (like canola)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

5 c.flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tarter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

In a large bowl, cream together butter, oil, sugar until fully mixed.

Add eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tarter together.

Then add the flour mixture to the bowl with the sugar and eggs.

Mix together until dough forms.

Shape into balls (2'' ) spacing the balls out on the cookie sheet. Once on the cookie sheet, flatten the balls with a fork. and bake for 10-12 minutes.

I usually halve this recipe because it makes some many cookies and still easily come out with 40-50 cookies.

I like taking mine out a little early-around the 10 minute mark, because I like soft cookies.

I have also found that successive batches wind up going on a warm cookie sheet into a hot oven and tend to cook faster than the first batch.
