2# pork sausage
2# lean ground beef
2 cans red kidney beans
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 cup water
2 large onions, chopped
2 large bay leaves
1 T garlic powder
1 tsp thyme
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sausage and beef until brown.
Drain off fat.
In large pan, combine all but green peppers and cover and simmer 1 hour.
Add green peppers and simmer 30 minutes.
