Directions:
Directions:
I put a roast in the crockpot with salt and pepper to taste. I also use a little bit of
sage on top. I add 1 cup of water and pour the tomato sauce on top. I let cook for
about 3 hours. Stir in the the onion, celery, garlic, tomatoes and the carrots. (This helps break of the meat.) Let that all cook for another couple of hours, stirring occasionally. Then I add in the remaining vegetables and the potatoes and cook until potatoes are tender. Serve with crackers.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
In Memory of Josh Robbins.

Josh Robbins was a foster brother to me. He worked at Lake Shore Inn in downtown Lake Stevens as a cook. He was only 18 but the best cook they had. We lost Josh on August 21, 1993 to Leukemia. This is one of his soups from Lake Shore Inn. and now that he's gone, this is the closest I can come to his soup. But it's still not as good as he made but t's still a pretty good version. My kids call it Josh's soup.
