6 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
2 Tbsp lemon juice
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
Prepared double-crust pie pastry
2 Tbsp butter or margarine

Topping
¼ margarine
2 Tbsp heavy cream
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Toss apples with lemon juice. Combine dry ingredients and add to the apples and toss.

Fill pie crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter. Cover with top crust, cut steam vents into the top of crust if necessary.

Bake at 400º for 40-45 minutes or until golden. Cover edges of pie crust with foil if it browns too quickly.

Topping

Melt margarine with brown sugar and cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in nuts. Pour over top of crust and in steam vents. Return to the oven 3-4 minutes or until bubbly.
