1 c powdered sugar, divided
c whole blanched almonds
2 strips lemon peel (2 x inch) yellow part only
1 c all-purpose flour
c butter (no substitution), softened
c fresh lemon juice
1 large egg yolk
t baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 deg F.

Combine 1 c powdered sugar, almonds and lemon peel in food processor. Process until very fine. Add flour, butter, lemon juice, egg yolk and baking powder. Pulse just until smooth. Spoon dough into a pastry bag fitted with -inch plain tip. Pipe 6-inch long logs, 1 inch apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 23 to 25 minutes, until golden brown on bottoms. Place wire racks over a sheet of waxed paper. Transfer cookies to racks and cool. Sprinkle with remaining c powdered sugar while still warm. Cool. Can be made ahead. Freeze up to 1 month.
