2 lb Lean Beef ( eye of round cut into bite size pieces will work)
1 Qt Beef broth
1 ea Large Onion (Diced small)
2 ea Large Potato (Peeled and diced)
4 ea Large Carrots (Peeled and sliced)
14.5 oz crushed Tomatoes in tomato puree
8 0z tomato sauce
2 TBS Ketchup
2 TBS Olive oil
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
½ tsp Cayenne pepper(optional)
2 TBS Bacon fat

Directions:
Directions:
Melt bacon fat in Dutch oven. Put beef in dutch oven and brown. Add onion and cook until translucent. and add Beef Broth, bring to a boil cover and slow boil until meat is tender (approximately 1 ½ hours or put all in crockpot). Add carrots and cook 15 minutes then all other ingredients including olive oil and slow cook until all vegetables are tender. Serve with crackers or cornbread.

Any lean meat can be substituted for the beef.

I use 5 qt cast iron dutch oven for this recipe. I personally like this made with chopped venison
