3 pounds chicken breasts, deboned and cut into 3 inch by 1½ inch peices.
1 tsp garlic salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 beaten egg
4 to 6 TB cornstarch
¾ cup sugar
½ cup vinegar
½ cup chicken stock
3 ½ TB catsup
1 TB soy sauce

Preheat over to 325º. Sprinkle chicken with garlic salt, and pepper. Let stand for an hour in the fridge. Dip chicken in beaten egg, then in cornstarch. Brown in hot vegetable oil in a wok or fry pan. In a saucepan mix sugar, vinegar, chicken stock, catsup and soy sauce. Place browned chicken with sauce poured over it in casserole dish. Bake uncovered for one hour. Turn chicken once or twice as cooking.
