1 ¾ cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. ginger
¼ tsp. ground cloves
½ cup mayonnaise
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
¾ cup canned pumpkin
¾ cup chocolate chips
¾ cup finely chopped walnuts

Grease bottom of 9x5x3 pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream margarine in a large mixing bowl, gradually adding the sugar. Cream at high speed until light and fluffy, blend with eggs, and beat well. Combine flour with soda, salt, and spices. Add alternately with pumpkin (begin and end with dry ingredients). Blend well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 65-75 minutes until cake springs back when lightly touched in the center. Let cool. Drizzle with glaze. Let stand 6 hours before slicing.

Spiced Glaze:
½ cup powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 tsp. cinnamon
Combine ingredients and blend in 1-2 tbsp. cream until the consistency of a glaze.
