Directions:Juicy and sweet. This is one of my favorite meals!
Preheat oven to 375. 350 if you have a hotter oven.
Cut the onion to create slices.
Open one packet of soup and dip mix and apply liberally to coat the brisket. As with any Jewish recipe, you have to eyeball it. It seems to be about half of the packet is an appropriate amount.
Open the bottle of chili sauce and slather all over the brisket. The more chili sauce you put on the sweeter the brisket is. It typically will take you up to the whole bottle depending on the size of the brisket.
Place the brisket with onions on top of it in whatever vessel you are putting into the oven in.
Pour the bottle of wine until it covers the brisket.
Cover the Brisket with foil to create a tight seal.
Once at 375, place the brisket into the oven covered and let cook for approximately 3 hours and a half.
Take the brisket out of the oven. You should be able to easily stick a fork into it with little to no resistance.
You can either eat the brisket now or cut into slices and put back in the oven covered for an additional 30 minutes to soak in additional juices. |
