1 cup molasses
1 cup sugar
½ cup lard
½ cup butter
½ cup sweet milk
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tbsp. baking soda (dissolved in hot water)
Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients together. Add as much flour as can stir in with spoon without using hands. Chill dough for 2 hours.
Put dough on well floured dough board. Roll flat and cut out cookies.
Place cookies on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes. For softer cookies, less time.
Can be frosted or sprinkled with sugar.
