1 1/2 cups flour
2 tbs baking powder
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chopped dates
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups chopped walnuts
4 eggs well beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients together. Put in the dates and nuts and stir in the eggs after beating them lightly. Bake at 350º in a thin sheet as can be spread and when done cut into small squares and roll into balls. Roll in granulated sugar.

Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma, Great Great Gramma Esther Rickard always made these at Christmas time! I remember helping her and getting excited! One of her great memories was the year she got red felt boots for Christmas and she was sooo happy!
