1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. baking cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1-3/4 c. very hot water
ice-cream if desired

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º. In an ungreased 9" square pan mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla with a fork until smooth making sure to incorporate dry ingredients into corners of pan. Sprinkle and stir in chocolate chips. Spread batter evenly in pan. Mix brown sugar and 1/4 c. cocoa to blend and then sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water evenly over batter. Bake 40 minutes or until top is dry. Cool 10 minutes. Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving. Top with ice-cream and sprinkle with nuts. Also good with whipped cream.
