1 cup sugar
½ cup butter
¼ cup molasses
1 egg
2 ¼ cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ginger
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add molasses and egg, beat lightly. Mix in dry ingredients. Cover, chill in fridge one hour.

Preheat oven to 350º. Pinch dough into 1-inch pieces and roll into balls. Roll balls in sugar and space about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Flatten the balls with a cup, lightly sprinkle more sugar as desired.

Bake for roughly 8 minutes or until cookies are slightly golden and cracked at the top.
