1 cup Quick oats
1 1/4 cup boiling water
1 very soft stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs (beaten)

Oatmeal Cake Topping:
1 cup coconut flakes
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp butter (melted)

Directions:
Directions:
Pour hot water over oats and let stand for 20 minutes. Add butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Mix well. Add eggs, vanilla, and dry ingredients. Mix. Put into a greased 9x13 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cake cool, then add topping.

Topping:
Mix all ingredients together well and pour over cake. Place in broiler to lightly brown coconut.
