2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
½+ cup water
vegetable shortening for frying

Directions:
Directions:
1. Heat enough shortening to be 2½ inches deep in a heavy pan.

2. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add water, kneading to make a soft, biscuit like dough.

3. Pull off palm size pieces, flatten and roll out as thin as possible, small tears okay. Drop carefully into hot oil, turn quickly and remove as soon as golden to paper towel lined plate. Repeat until finished.

Use instead of tortillas, layering on taco meat, lettuce, cheese and salsa. SO GOOD.
or
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for a simple dessert.
