Ingredients:

1 cup of Crisco;
1 cup of brown sugar;
1 cup of white sugar;
2 eggs;
1 tsp of vanilla;
1-1/2 cups of flour;
1 tsp salt;
1 tsp baking soda;
3 cups of oatmeal.

Add (to taste) chopped pecans, raisins and coconut (The coconut gives the cookies a nice moist, chewy texture.)

Cream the Crisco, brown and white sugars together. Add the eggs and vanilla. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda and then add it to the mixture. Then fold in oatmeal, along with pecans, raisins and coconut, if desired.

Bake at 375F until brown.
