½ cup butter flavored Crisco
1 cup peanut butter
¾ cup white sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1¼ cup flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. Cream together crisco, peanut butter, sugars & vanilla in large bowl. Mix for 1 minute, scraping sides of bowl frequently. Add egg & milk. Beat until well blended. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl and add to cream mixture.
Drop by round spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheet. Flatten in crisscross
pattern with fork. (Dipped in flour and/or sugar.) Bake 8 - 10 minutes. Cool on cooling rack.

* This recipe is by far the best peanut butter cookie recipe I’ve found. These cookies quite literally melt in your mouth. This is Allen’s favorite cookie. He eats them any way he can get them; including crumbling them in a bowl and pouring milk over them. It’s his favorite homemade cereal.
