2½ cup flour, all-purpose sifted
2½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add baking powder and salt to flour, sift together. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla.
Blend in the flour mixture. Chill. Roll ⅛ inch thick on slightly floured board. Cut.
Sprinkle with colored sugar (or frost after baked and cooled.) Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375°F 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to racks to cool.

**Variation: form dough into 2 rolls on wax paper. Wrap, freeze. Slice ⅛ inch and bake as above.
