¾ cup cider vinegar
1½ cup water
1¼ cup sugar, divided
4 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
1 teaspoon salt
2 cup sifted flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
⅓ cup shortening
¾ cup milk
4 tablespoon butter, divided

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat to 375°F. Combine vinegar, water, 1 cup sugar and 2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening; stir in milk with fork until a soft dough forms.
Roll out into rectangle ¼ inch thickness. Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over surface of rectangle. Dot with 2 tablespoon butter and roll up.
Starting at longer side, cut crosswise into slices about 1¼ inch thick. Place cut sides up, close together in deep baking dish. Dot with remaining butter. Pour hot vinegar mixture over all and bake 30-40 minutes.
Serve hot with diary cream. Makes 8 servings.
