2-3 pounds ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
½ medium-size green bell pepper, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
8 ounce can tomato sauce
½ cup water
½ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cider or white vinegar
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt

8 toasted hamburger buns

Directions:
Directions:
Use a large pot. Brown beef with onion, celery, and bell pepper until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.

Stir in tomato sauce and remaining ingredients.

Bring mixture to a boil over medium high heat. Cover, reduce heat to medium and simmer, stirring occasionally 30 minutes.

Can be cooled and frozen in freezer bags and thawed overnight in refrigerator or defrosted in the microwave.

Note: Slow cooker: instead of stovetop simmering, can cook on high 4 hours
