1 gallon sliced cucumbers
2 T. Alum

SYRUP:
3 lb. sugar
1 qt. vinegar
1 qt. water

TIE IN CLOTH:
1 t. celery seed
2 sticks cinnamon
1/2 box whole cloves
2 whole allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucumbers in salt brine 3-5 days (1 c. salt to enough water to cover). Stir every day. Drain and wash. Boil in water to cover, and add alum for 10 minutes. Drain and prepare syrup. Simmer 1 1/2 hours real slow. To seal, put in jars, hot, and bring syrup to boil, before pouring in jars.
