Cream together:
1 lb softened butter or margarine (I use 1/2 of each)
2 cups dark brown sugar
1 ½ cups sugar
add 2 Tbsp vanilla and beat for 3-4 minutes then add 3 eggs

Stir together:
6 cups flour
1½ tsp salt
1½ tsp baking soda
Add to wet mixture and stir together, mixture is sticky.

Add 4 cups chocolate chips and if desired 2 cups chopped nuts

Directions:

Drop dough by small ice cream scoops on waxed paper lined cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing.

Do not reuse wax paper!

This is an all time Dahl Favorite Cookie!
