2 cups elbow macaroni
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
2 cups milk
12 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp. mustard powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. pepper
½ cup bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni according to package directions and drain well. Melt butter in saucepan or skillet. Stir in flour until smooth. Add milk and cook, stirring constantly, until thickens a bit*. Stir in mustard, salt, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.

In a greased 2-quart baking dish, place a layer of macaroni, then a layer of cheese, repeating until dish is full. Top with cheese and dry bread crumbs.

Pour sauce over top and bake in 350º oven for 30-45 minutes.

*When making the cream mixture stir quickly and constantly so it doesn't get lumpy or stick.

This recipe is from my friend Ellie Lewis. It is by far the best tasting way to prepare macaroni and cheese. but takes more time and effort.

You can double the recipe and use larger dish. Bake 20 minutes longer if you double.
